In just a couple of weeks, the BWF World Championships will be played in London from 8 - 14 August. The best European shuttlers hope to secure a spot on the podium.
badmintoneurope.com will ask some of the European stars to give our readers an insight about their World Championships preparations. Now it's Scott Evans' turn.
Scott, how do you prepare for the Worlds?
I will train hard up until the week before the Worlds training 2/3 times per day and in the week up to the Worlds I will play as many matches as possible so that I am ready for when the tournament starts.
What does a World Championship personally mean for you?
It means a lot for me and I look forward to playing it every year.
What was your best moment at World Championships?
My best moment was playing against Muhammad Hafiz Hashim in Malaysia in the 2nd round in 2007.
... and your worst moment?
My worst memory was in India 2009. After the tournament I got very sick and had some problems flying home. I passed out on the plane twice and was very sick.
What would you like to achieve in London?
I will aim to be at my best for London and perform to the best that I can.
Badminton Ireland got a new CEO. Can we expect a new setup of your federation?
It is still early days for Badminton Ireland and the new CEO so right now I don't know.
