A fired up Jan Ø. Jørgensen celebrates his second Superseries triumph in today's Yonex French Open finals. The Dane, currently number 7 on the BWF world rankings, overcame his opponent Kenichi Tago of Japan, who surprisingly beat world number one Lee Chong Wei in yesterday's semi-finals, in two intense games 21-19, 23-21 and continued with his impressive form he had already shown in the last couple of weeks.

To celebrate his magnificent victory, Jørgensen made a short demonstration of his dancing skills, just before he threw his t-shirt and racquet to the Parisian crowd.

Jan Ø. Jørgensen's victory in Paris is the first men's singles Superseries triumph for a European shuttler in three years. It was Jørgensen himself who took the last European Superseries crown at the Yonex Denmark Open back in 2010.

"It's amazing. It is such a great feeling to win a Superseries tournament again. I am so happy right now", says a relieved Jørgensen to the media. "This victory means a lot to me. To be honest I did not expect to take the victory here in Paris. It's kind of a surpise for myself."

Chris Adcock and Gabby White beaten in semi-finals

England mixed doubles pair Chris Adcock and Gabby White could reach the French Open semi-final where the suffered a defeat to the Olympic champions Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei in Paris.

Unseeded pair Adcock and White looked to be on course to beat the Chinese top seeds after winning the first game. But Zhang and Zhao recovered for a 18-21 21-14 21-13 victory in 62 minutes.

Adcock and White had reached the last four with a victory over world champions Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir of Indonesia. They were looking to avenge the 21-23 21-16 21-5 defeat they suffered against Zhang and Zhao at last week's Denmark Open. But the Chinese pair, who won that tournament in Odense, wore their opponents down and closed out the final game comfortably.
