Dutch national champion men's singles Mark Caljouw (WR57) almost went down against Korea's Kwang Hee Heo (WR114) in the first round of the Canada Open 2017.
Luckily from 5-5 in the deciding game onwards the dutchman was able to create a gap in points and power through to the second round (13-21, 21-10, 15-21).
In round two Mark wil play against Redy Perdana from Indonesia. This young man has NO ranking, but blazed through the qualification tournament and ousted Austria's Wolfgang Gnedt (WR229) in two games.
