Last Saturday morning I took an early train to Schiphol and after a two-hour flight I arrived in Marseille, near Fos-sur-Mer.
Our team match was scheduled at 16:00. As last time's 'first lady' Kirsty Gilmour was still in the running at the Yonex Dutch Open 2015 in Almere (where she won the final!!!), I graduated to playing 'simple dame 1'. My opponent was Ophélia Casier, a junior player. In a comfortable 10-21 10-21 match, I secured one of six points the team won. The match ended with a 2-6 victory in our pockets!
My tournament schedule is open for the next few weeks after a conscious withdrawal from the Swiss International, which will allow me to put in some more and much-needed time in specific court practice. I look forward to my next match for Chambly on October 26th against Asptt Strasbourg.
