Hans-Kristian Vittinghus: Walkovers and Hollywood matches at World Championships Denmark

What a semifinal day at the World Championships - unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. Walkovers, hollywood matches and very one-sided affairs. I feel sad for all the wonderful spectators who did not get their money's worth.

How do we fix it? I don't see an easy way. There are ways to avoid walkovers completely, but do we prefer to see matches where the result has been decided before the match starts? I'm not sure what the answer to that question should be./

So far all suggestions I've heard has some dangerous flaws that could punish the wrong players.

A mentality change or a fundamental change in the structure of our sport are possible ways to get there. But if anyone out there has a simpler yet still sustainable solution I'm all ears?

What happened today is not in the interest of any international player. Not even the ones involved today. Period.
