Huynh uit Vietnam over haar project
My name is Duong Nhut Huynh, I have been the assistant-coach and translator for Ron Daniëls in Vietnam.
Jij het nieuws, wij een tikkie!
Besides the training for the National Team in Danang we have been also been doing small projects for young kids in Vietnam. Carlton Sports has given us materials that we have used for street badminton. I have also been talking with Raphael from Solibad in Ho Chi Minh City and because of these two men I also wanted to do things for poor children in Vietnam.
Background
I come from a small town called Vinh Thanh. There is nothing for sports there and people don't have money. When Daniëls ask me what my dream was I told him that I would like to start a badminton center in Vinh Thanh where the children could learn our great sport.
He ask me to set up a meeting with the local government to talk about that dream. Very early on we knew that the money is a big problem, because we have to pay 20% interest on everything we loan from the bank. The local government wants to help but we still need a lot of money. Now I hear that Daniëls has started to raise money for the project and that people like to help me to get the much needed funds.
The money is not a gift: it is more like a micro credit that people provide me with so I don't have to pay 20% interest every year on the money from a bank. Next month I will have a meeting again with the local government and we will have a look at the land where we maybe can build the center.
I also need support from a big organization and this week I have been talking with the army in Ho Chi Minh City. The army always needs good badminton players for their team, so when I can make the talents the army will give them a job in the city. This way the poor children will have good motivation to work hard, because they can get a good job if they do. Also the local government will help me more to get the project started.
I did not believe Daniëls when he told me that maybe badminton people in Europe would help with the project to give me micro credit, but now I can see that people in the Netherlands are different and like to help if they can.
Micro credit for badminton center
I will send information about the project to badmintonline.nl so that people can see what I do with the money. After I was been fired in Danang I thought I would never become a coach anymore, but now I can see that not all people from the Netherlands are bad. I want to be a coach just like Daniëls and want to give the children in my center a good badminton education.
You can help me by give me a micro credit of 100 euro. I will pay that money back to you after 10 years. In all these years you will be shareholder in my center. Please tell other people about this and ask them also to provide me with micro credit. I will make the promise that my center will not associate itself with corruption and that we will put the players and their future first. Help me to make my dream come true.
