Iris Tabeling: no European Championships this year

This week I got a message from Ilse Vaessen from the Dutch Badminton Federation. It said that Claus Poulsen asked her to let me know they will not select me and my partner Nadia Fankhauser for the European Championships this year.

When you are with 3 pairs in the top 24, all 3 pairs are allowed to go. Unfortunately the Netherlands is with 3 pairs in the top 48, and that means only 2 can go.

Theoretically it would be Cheryl / Selena as highest ranked, and Nadia / me as second highest.

But as Nadia is injured at the moment we understand the decision from Claus that he will give Imke / Debora the chance as the third pair.

Next year we will be there again and fight for spot number 1!
