Iris Tabeling to leave Dutch national team, heads for Switzerland

Some big news after the two weeks holiday I have had. I had a meeting with the federation last monday, and there I was told that they would no longer support me within the national team, as they say I'm physically not good enough to perform stable on the highest level.

Of course I was really sad after I got the message and I spoke a lot with family and friends about it. I immediately knew that I didn't want to quit yet, I still love the sport way to much and still enjoy playing it. Spain will be my last tournament with Cheryl and Ruben, and also the last tournament where I will still be a member of the national team. After that I have decided to go to Switzerland to continue my badminton journey with my sponsor CBA. I will start a new ladies' double with Nadia Fankhauser and will see how things will turn out.

I'm looking forward to this new adventure, and for sure I'm not done with it yet. You will see me on the court for a few more years, with hopefully some good results.

When one door closes, another will open!

Rare beslissing. In februari nog 1e in VD, 2e in GD bij het NK. Wat moet je dan als sporter doen om in de selectie te blijven. Vraag me wel af wie er dan nu eventueel bijkomt. Weer een goede speelster naar het buitenland...
